Birthday Parties!!

Last Thursday night we celebrated Chase's birthday with some of our friends up at Superior Grill. The Hunter Lawley Band was playing and they were great. We know their bass player (Steven) and his wife (Amanda) from church. Amanda is a student teacher at Bluff Park this semester so we've gotten to know each other over the past few months. We all had a great time!! Thank you to everyone who was able to come and help Chase celebrate his 27th birthday. Here are a few pictures from the night.

Last night, Chase, myself and my parents went to Ichiban in Vestavia for Chase's final b'day celebration. We had SUCH a great time!! It was probably one of the funniest dinners we've ever had with them.
This is a horrible picture but Chase got to try the egg cracking thing. He wasn't very good but it was cool that he got to try.
They of course sang to Chase and gave him a pineapple boat and some chopsticks as a gift. They are pretty nice!
When they gave Chase the pineapple boat the chopsticks were in a little box in the middle of the plate, my mom didn't know what they were and she leaned over to him and asked if it was some type of "fortune ruller." I about died laughing...actually we all laughed really hard because that was just hilarious. I've never heard of such a thing and I'm pretty sure she just made that up. haha!

Then we all passed around the Fortune cookie basket and started reading our fortunes and my dad went first. Once he got to the end of his fortune he tacked on the "in bed" part and it totally caught me off guard and again I busted out laughing.

It was such a wonderful dinner. Thanks again Mom and Dad for treating us to a YUMMY dinner. We love y'all so much!!

Chase's Birthday

Yesterday was Chase's 27th Birthday!!

I let him open his presents before he left for work yesterday. He asked for new t-shirts and that's what he got.

He got a Patagonia, The North Face, and this Dr. Pepper t-shirts and I gave him a new white button down that he was needing. He liked them all a lot!! Yay!

We ate birthday dinner at his parents house and I was in charge of the cake. This is it! I thought it turned out pretty good considering how quickly I had to put it together and ice it. Yummy!!

I'm not sure what he wished for but I hope and pray that he has a wonderful 27th year of life filled with love, fun and more and more blessings.

Brittany's Basket Shower

Sunday afternoon, I went to one of my best friends, Brittany's Basket shower. She was given so many really great things. My mom and I had the Garden/Grill basket. I had so much fun putting it together for Britt. I hope she and Paul enjoy all the stuff inside the planter. I didn't take a picture of it but I kinda wish I had now.
Anyways, we all had a great time at the shower. I love you Brittany!!

Spring Break is coming to an end...sad!

I really am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, although, I am VERY thankful to have a great job. This past week being off work has been relaxing and productive. Thursday, my mom and I drove over to Atlanta because she was wanting to go to the IKEA store. When we got there and checked into our hotel we decided to walk to lunch. We ate at a place called Jalapeno Charlie's and it was really good! After lunch, Mom and I decided to go to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Here is a slideshow of some of the AWESOME orchids they had in an exhibit while we were there.

We did some shopping at the Lenox Square Mall and then met my cousin, Haley for dinner. We met her at a place called Pappadeaux's. Oh My Gracious!! It was amazing!!! We were so glad Haley suggested it.
So Friday we spent 3 hours, yes, 3 hours in IKEA. That place is HUGE and it had a food court inside! I found a cute little office cart that I am putting all my scrapbooking things on so that I can wheel them around to wherever I decide to work on my books. It's really pretty cool! I'll have to take a picture of it to show you guys. There are a few pictures on the slideshow of some of the cool stuff we saw in IKEA. I loved the cabinets in that kitchen. They were BEA-U-TIFUL!! On the way home, we stopped in Oxford/Anniston and had dinner at Olive Garden with my Grandmother, Aunt Judy and cousin Leslie. It was great to see them, but sadly we did not take a picture.
When we finally made it home I walked in the house to wake Chase from a nap and he had shaved his head Friday afternoon while I was gone. Since it was hot outside and he was washing and cleaning cars all afternoon he decided it was a must do. I actually think his hair, or lack there of, looks fine. Haha! We're taking family pictures in two weeks so my mom wasn't thrilled, but that's okay, she'll get over it.

In all I had a great time with my mom, Haley and other family members this past weekend. I love you all!!

A Valentine's Honeymoon In The Mountains

First of all, I know you're probably thinking, "It's about time" and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get around to this but here is my blog about our honeymoon.
We started our honeymoon in Pigeon Forge, TN. We stayed in a very nice cabin called, Smokey Safari. It had lots of animal print in it and a red, heart-shaped tub, which we thought was awesome! There was also a game room upstairs that was real nice. I wish we could have been there longer so that we could have used it more than we did.

The red, heart-shaped tub was really cool. We bought bubbles and tea light candles for it. It was really relaxing!

Friday, we went to Gatlinburg for the day. We walked around in some of the shops, road the SkyLift, went to the Ripley Believe It or Not museum and ate lunch at Fanny Farkles. It was a really fun day! That afternoon we drove through the mountains trying to find a waterfall but sadly it got dark and we never made it to the waterfall that day.

We decided to have some ice cream at the top of the Sky Lift before heading back down. Triple Chocolate Dip Cones are SOOO good!!
Friday night we ate dinner at a place called the Blue Moose in Pigeon Forge. We had the best burgers and the greatest thing of all was that they had WiFi there so Chase got his computer out of the car to check e-mail. When I checked mine we had an awesome surprise from our photographer, our wedding pictures were ready. So we sat in the restaurant for an hour and a half watching the slideshow of our pictures. Saturday, we woke up late, got ready and went to find some breakfast. It was kind of a rainy day but we decided to drive around to some waterfalls anyways. We did get to see a few falls and we Also went to Cades Cove in Townsend, TN. We really want to go back there one days when it's sunny and warmer because there is so much we didn't get to see.

This is one of the waterfalls we got to drive up to. It was really pretty! It was called The Sinks. While it's very pretty, it is also very dangerous. People have jumped off and sadly died from hitting the rocks under the water. Chase and I were kinda wet from walking around Cades Cove but we took a picture anyways.

Saturday was Valentine's and we went to the Dixie Stampede for dinner and the show. We had the greatest time. The show was wonderful and the food was even better. After the show we decided to go play Putt-Putt Golf. Chase was dying to play before we left. It was really fun but we both wish we had picked a better course.

Sunday morning we packed up and drove over to Nashville where we spent the night in the Union Station Hotel. The hotel was AMAZING!!! We got ungraded to a nicer room because it was our honeymoon. It had 30 foot ceilings and a really nice bed.

Sunday afternoon, Chase and I walked around downtown Nashville to some of the shops. We both got new cowboys boots. I actually was able to get 2 new pairs and Chase got one. I'll have to post that picture later when I can find it.

This is the inside of a bar called Layla's that we went into to use the bathroom and sit and listen to the music for a little while. It was pretty cool!

Lastly, on Monday we headed back to Birmingham and on the way I had my eyes open looking for a winery. Chase and I decided that every trip we go on we're going to collect bottles of wine even though we're not big wineo's. In Arrington, TN we found a really awesome winery, Arrington Vineyards, about 15 miles off the interstate. We got to have a tasting and there were lots of really good ones. So Chase picked a white and I picked a raspberry dessert wine.

Life Is Good

Last night Chase and I went up to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate St. Patrick's day. So we put on our matching GREEN and headed out. We also had made plans to meet 2 friends we haven't seen our really talked to in a while. It was really great to just hang out and talk. I'm pretty sure we all had a good time.

The green drinks were really pretty cool! I was afraid our teeth would turn green but they didn't.

Ashley and I enjoying our green beverages as well. It was great to be talking and hanging out again. I've missed her a lot! I've said things I shouldn't have and I wish I could take them all back but I'll just have to forgive myself and start over and build our friendship back up again. It's great to have her back in my life.

On a lighter note, Marley LOVES being outside. I can't seem to keep her inside when the sun is shining. Every time she comes inside she gets some water, eats a little and then starts barking and whining to go back outside. ARG!! I wish we had a fenced in backyard, but we don't so I have to keep her on her leash and hook it to the banister of our front porch. Here is a cute picture I took a few minutes ago.

She was tired from running around and needed a water break.

McWane Center

Saturday, my Mom and I took my niece, Alyssa to the McWane Center. We all had a really good time, especially Alyssa. We tried to see the IMAX film, Under The Sea but that only lasted about 5 minutes. Alyssa got really scared of how big the screen was so we decided to leave the movie early and just went ahead into Adventure Hall.

This water-thing was probably her favorite thing at the McWane Center. She got totally soaked! When you put the ball in/on the stream of water it balances on it and "floats" in the air. Really had this 3 year old excited!
She is just so cute, I love her! She calls my Mom, Nona and me, Asilyn. She can't say my name correctly yet but I kinda like Asilyn.

After about an hour and a half we decided it was time to head home.

A few weekends ago Chase and I went to Montgomery with some friends for the Rodeo. It was surprisingly a lot of fun. We got there a little early and got to walk around and see the cattle and some horses before the Rodeo. It was all pretty cool!
