I Love Our Girls!

Brantley has been really into making tents lately. I took a picture of this one because she was so proud and had a great time playing in it for hours. She's growing up!! I LOVED making tents when I was a little girl, so I'm not surprised that Brantley loves it too!

Daddy-Daughter Cupcakes

Saturday night, Chase decided he wanted to make cupcakes with Brantley after dinner. Brantley had a lot of fun helping her daddy and the cupcakes turned out great!

As you can tell, Brantley enjoyed her cupcake VERY much!! My girl loves her some sweets!!

Savannah at 2 months Old

Weight: 9lbs 13oz     Height: 22 inches

Diapers: Size 1      Clothes: 0-3 month

At 2 months, Savannah...

• eats every 2-3 hours during the day and once or twice at night. She's still nursing really well. So far so good. We aren't having any nursing issues so far.
• sleeps at night 5-6 hours when I first put her down, wakes around 3am and then sleeps for another 3-4 hours. 
• is usually taking 2 pretty long naps during the day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon during BR's nap) and then extra cat naps here and there throughout the day
• is smiling more and more every day. So cute!! She doesn't have a dimple like Brantley unfortunately, but she's still super adorable. We love her!!
• has started cooing and gurgling a good bit during her play times. I love it!
• likes her pacy when she's tired or fussy
• hates the car seat pretty much anytime she's sitting in it. Once she falls asleep then she's fine. My guess is that she just doesn't like to be tied down in the seat.
• sleeps swaddled in her Woombie. Now that Savannah has gotten bigger the Woombie fits her much better so we use it all the time now.
• only likes to sit in the bouncy seat if we are bouncing it with our foot (Annoying! but it keeps her happy so we can eat meals so we do it until she falls asleep.)
• still doesn't really care for the swing all that much. If she's really tired then she'll let me put her in it. I usually have to hold her for a few minutes until she starts to fall asleep and then I can put her down.
• likes to watch Brantley play. They are going to be such good friends!
• has really good head control while we're holding her and pretty good during tummy time. Dr. Simpson was impressed yesterday at her appointment.
• I try to give her a bath every other night before bed but that doesn't always happen. I'm getting ready to start new bedtime routines for Brantley and Savannah in hopes that we can move bedtime up about 30 minutes by the time school starts. I'm planning to shorten BR's naps to just 2 hours instead of her 2-3 hours so that she'll be ready for bed earlier. Or at least, I hope so! as found her hands. She licks and sucks on them. It's very strange but I guess it's just a start and she'll be using them to reach for toys in no time.

 Seriously, how cute is that smile!?! I just love to watch her grow and play. She really is a much happier baby than she was a month ago. She still has trouble with gas pains every now and then but I try to give her Mylicon at times I think she might have tummy troubles from something I have eaten.

Chase and I are truly blessed to have these two beautiful girls as our daughters. Our family life has changed a good bit since Savannah was born but only in good ways.

101 in 1001 Update

I was just updating my list of 101 in 1001 and I've realized that I only have 27 things left to do before my list is complete! Yay! Also, I've realized that I'd like to change and take off some of the 27 that are left because our family and wants have changed a bit since I wrote this back in 2010. Here is a link to my original list. 

Here is a list of the things that we're carrying over to the new list (some have been updated or changed)...

1. Go to Six Flags with friends

2. Go snow skiing

3. Have Alyssa spend the night with us

4. Take Brantley and Savannah to an Aquarium
5. Take Brantley to her first Auburn football game
6. Take Brantley to her first Auburn baseball game

8. Read a book all the way through
9. Visit the Preston's in Pennsylvania

14. Get a manicure and pedicure just because I want to. It's really sad that I'm having to carry this one over. I guess it just goes to show that I have the opportunity to take a break and relax very much.
15. Take a photography class. I'd love to do a seminar with a local photographer and learn more about using our Nikon D300.
16. Go whitewater rafting
17. Take a vacation to the mountains
18. Pay off my student loans
19. Take Brantley, Savannah and Alyssa to Portrait Innovations
20. Teach Brantley to say her bedtime prayers
21. Grow my bangs out. I'm really close.
22. Run a 5K
23. Go to a drive-in movie
(I removed a few because they were similar to numbers 8 & 10.)
24. Finish painting the downstairs den and finish decorating and hanging pictures down there.
25. Have our family photos taken by White Cotton Photography. These are scheduled for August 2012. I hope to use them once a year, if not more, from now on.
26. Take our first family vacation as a family of 4.
27. Complete the yard transformation. We have plans to take out most of the ivy and add lots of grass in it's place. (Post coming soon.)
28. Build a new swing set out from in the side yard for the girls. I'd also love to have a little playhouse as part of the swing set.
29. Add a low rock wall and patio swing around the side patio off the kitchen. Also, get new patio furniture and cushions for the chairs.

30. Actually complete one of the MANY Pinterest projects I've pinned.
31. Celebrate Brantley's 3rd birthday. I think we're going with an Angelina Ballerina theme.
32. Celebrate Brantley's 4th birthday.

God Bless America

Our July 4th holiday spread across 4 days. We started out by attending Vestavia's "We Love America Day" celebration where we went swimming at the Wald Park pool. Actually, Brantley and I were the only ones to get wet but it was fun none the less. Brantley loved the little pool so I'm hoping to take her back there soon. 

July 4th was actually pretty uneventful for us. Chase had brought home the green pool for Brantley to play in but we were having a bee problem that day so she only got to play for about 5 minutes. We're thinking they have a nest in the front yard somewhere because Chase killed at least 30 or more with wasp spray and then more kept coming out.

The night we went over to Chase's parents house for dinner. Beverly had cooked a killer brisket and some other stuff I don't even remember what it all was now but the brisket was AMAZING! We opted out of watching fireworks again this year because Chase had been up since about 3am so he was tired. Hopefully next year we will be in to see Thunder On The Mountain for sure. Or some other show somewhere. I'd love to be at the lake next year for the 4th.

On Thursday the 5th, I took the girls to the Birmingham Zoo all by myself. We didn't get there until almost 11:30 so it was blazin' hot and we were pretty miserable the whole time. No worries though, we still had a good time and made the most of our outing.

On Friday morning, we went down to meet my parents at Lake Jordan. My Aunt Brenda had rented a house for the holiday and we got to spend Friday night down there. It was great and I'm so glad we were able to go. Brantley got to swim in the lake for the first time and she went on her first boat ride (pictures below). Savannah slept under an umbrella in her moses basket for about 3 hours when we first got there. I was amazed that she slept that long out there but it felt great so I guess I don't blame her.

She loved the boat ride most of all I think!

All in all we had a great time celebrating America's birthday. We spent time with family and that is the perfect thing to do on holidays. Happy Birthday, America!!

 (6/26/12)The same day Brantley decided to potty train, Savannah started napping on her tummy. I don't let her nap on her tummy every day but if she falls asleep in my arms unswaddled then I usually lay her on her tummy for a nap. So far so good and she seems to like it a lot.

 Sunday, July 8th - Good morning from the Williamson Girls!

 Sunday, July 8th was also Savannah's first time to go to church. Brantley went to Sunday school and Savannah stayed with Chase and I while we watched the service from the atrium outside the auditorium. We have been visiting Mountaintop and so far we like it a lot. Brantley really likes going to church now. She was so excited and didn't cry at all when we dropped her off. That was a very nice change. She even told the teacher when she needed to go potty and they took her. Yay! Big girl! After Savannah's 2 month check up, I think we'll start leaving her in the nursery as well so that Chase and I can both pay attention more in the service.

So that's a little bit of what's been going on. I have a few other posts to do today so hopefully I'll finish them all and be caught up during nap time.

Brantley's a Big Girl Now!

 Back on June 26th, Brantley woke up and decided she wanted to start potty training. I was shocked and totally unprepared. I had a few gummies and M&M's to use as rewards but mentally I was not ready for my Brantley to become a big girl. BUT I put my fears aside and we went for it. I put panties on her and put her little pink potty in front of the TV and there she sat. I pumped her full of water and juice to increase the opportunities of her needing to use the potty. She didn't end up sitting there all morning but every time she thought she might need to go she would sit on the potty for a few minutes. She had a bunch of accidents that day but since then she has had very few. Pooped in the potty on the first day and every day since (with only 2 accidents). Pretty good if you ask me!

Now 3 weeks later, I consider Brantley potty trained. She hasn't worn a diaper in 3 weeks. Only Pull-Ups at nap and bedtime. A lot of those times she wakes up dry but we're still putting them on her for a while because I don't want to change sheets in the middle of the night.

Our little Brantley isn't a baby anymore, she's a big potty-going girl and we are so proud of her!!
