BR at 14 Months

 On Monday, this sweet little girl turned 14 months old. She keeps getting more precious every day. I can hardly believe how adorable she is...and she's mine, and Chase's! haha

Brantley Rae's Stats at 14 months old:

Weight: around 18 pounds

Height: 30.5 inches tall 

Diapers: size 3

Clothes: 12 months      Shoes: size 4

Words that she says often: dada, all done ("a dah"), cheese, shoes, juice (I think), "uh oh", hot (I love when she says this one. She holds her hand up towards whatever is hot and then says "hot". S cute!)

Words that she has said before but not very often: duck, mama, thank you ("ta tu")

She wants to say "light" really bad. She points at them all the time but she just hasn't figured out how to say light yet. No worries! She'll be talking up a storm before we know it, I'm sure.

 - Brantley Rae loves to be outside! She loves swinging, playing on the playground or just walking around the yard. It's so fun to watch her grow. She is becoming very curious about everything around her. Noises, things she sees and how they work.
- She still loves to play with the TV remotes, so I have to keep those hid at all times.
- If she isn't wearing shoes then her socks HAVE to come off. haha Silly baby! She'll take them off and then sit there and try to put them back on.

I took her to Aldridge Gardens Tuesday afternoon to try and snap some pictures and as you can see she wasn't cooperating very well. Taking pictures of an active 14 month old isn't an easy task. :o)

Foods that BR likes: We recently let her try turkey and ham lunch meat and so far she likes them a lot. She doesn't like to eat anything with a fork or spoon unless she can do it herself. Problem with that is that she's still perfecting that task, so she makes a pretty big mess with whatever she's eating.
She likes broccoli, green beans, CHEESE, fruit (strawberries and grapes mostly, but she does like cantaloupe too). She likes hamburger meat and chicken. Loves to eat chips whenever she sees us eating them. haha (Funny story: Today at lunch she ate dill pickle chips with my mom and I and actually liked them. I was shocked!) She still likes all her usual foods she has liked in the past so I won't type those all over again.

You are beautiful and precious gift from God. Mommy and Daddy are very thankful for you! We love you very much and look forward to all the funny things you are going to be doing and saying soon.

Happy Birthday, Chase!!

On Wednesday night we had dinner at Ichiban in Vestavia with our parents to celebrate Chase's 29th birthday. It was so yummy and Brantley loved the cooking in front of us. See oo'd and ahh'd the whole time. It was so cute! Chase and I got to try cracking eggs. We both did a pretty good job!

 We snapped a few family pictures before we headed home.

Yesterday was his actual birthday and it ended up being a pretty good day. He had a not so fun day at work but when he got home he got to relax and just hang out. Brantley spent the night with my mom and dad so we invited a few friends to come over and celebrate. We didn't have cake or anything, although I did buy him ice cream but he forgot about it until right before we went to bed. Oh well, there's always today! haha Next year he'll be the BIG 3-0 so we'll be having a shindig to celebrate. I better start planning now! hehe

I love him more than words can express and look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with him.

Veteran's Park

Last week we met this little guy and his mommy at Veteran's park for a little play time. Brantley had a blast in the sunshine. That playground is awesome!! If you have kids and have never been taken them there, I recommend you do so. Take a picnic lunch and just relax.

Brantley got to do all her favorite things. She swang, slid and walked all over the place as fast as she could. It was so fun!!

Oh.My.Goodness! I just love this sweet girl!!!

Despite the fact that there were SO many other people there (because it was Spring Break), we had a wonderful time and look forward to going back one day soon. Perhaps this weekend?! We'll see!

Family Get-Together

On Sunday, March 13th, Brantley and I went over to my aunt and uncle's house to have lunch and spend the afternoon with our family. My cousin, Andrea, and her family were down here visiting from PA so we were all very excited to see them. Brantley and I were late because the time change really got me all mixed up. Oops! So we scrapped the bottom of the dishes for some lunch but then had LOTS of fun with the family.

The kids are all so adorable and love to play together, especially the boys and Abby.

Below are our attempts at taking a group picture of all the kiddos. HAHA!!! That was comical!! Brantley wouldn't sit down and be still and Molly DID NOT want to take a picture. But we tried and these are memories we'll still cherish.

Brantley played with a ball, walked around with PopPop, played in the driveway and got her first scrap from falling down. Their driveway is on a hill and I looked away for just a few seconds and she fell down the driveway hitting her mouth of the concrete. SO SAD!! She cried for a good 5 minutes and had a fat lip for the rest of the afternoon. Poor baby, bad Mommy!

This is my cousin, Andrea and her youngest boy, Isaiah. I love them so much!!

Haha- Brantley looks like she's working up a mischievous plan. That little stinker!

The weather was absolutely beautiful and I'm so thankful that we were all able to get together. I have such a sweet, loving and caring family that I thank the Lord for giving me.

Top Tooth

Last week, Brantley cut her first top tooth. 13 1/2 months old. I'm super exited about this because she has now figured out how to use her new pearly white to bite food. I don't have to break up her granola bars anymore! Yay!

I think she is trying to get that other top tooth and possibly more but I don't see any white spots yet.

No matter what, I love her more and more every day. She keeps getting cuter and more adorable every day. Chase said that to me this evening. He was watching her play in the den and he turned looked at me and said, "Is it possible that she keeps getting cuter every day?" and of course I said "yes, I agree." 

It is past due time for some new GOOD pictures of our family so I'm dying for the weather to clear up and warm up so we can do something about that. I really would love to have them taken by White Cotton Photography. I'll have to get working on that. Once we get new pictures taken, I'm changing our blog background and header. I'm ready for a change!

Teething...Ahh!!

Brantley finally cut another tooth last week. That brings her to a grand total of 3! ha! This is really great news to us because we were beginning to wonder if she was ever going to get any more teeth. haha! The downside of this exciting event is that she is trying to cut the other top tooth and possibly more. She also has a cold so that definitely donesn't help the situation. I feel so sorry for her! Last night was pretty rough so I'm hoping that tonight will go better.

I haven't managed to snap a picture of her new tooth yet. It's going to be pretty impossible I think because she hardly lets us look at it so I know she wont let me hold her lip up long enough for a picture. Oh well! Once it's in good you'll be able to see it in all her pictures.

Today BR and I went for a surprise visit to see my mom, aka Nana, because she and my Dad just got back from a week long vacation yesterday. Brantley was so excited to see her Nana. It was pretty cute! Of course I didn't have the camera out just then to capture her excitement, maybe next time. While we were waiting on Nana to get back from lunch I snapped these pictures of BR. She's so stinkin' cute and I love her!

Do you see all that crazy hair on her head? It's growing like crazy and there isn't much I can do with it. ha!

Anyways, sorry I haven't been blogging much lately, I've been pretty busy with FarleyRoad Designs orders and taking care of fussy butt. I am so thankful for the orders I have received. I am working as much as I can on them, but sadly, it's really hard for me to have enough time during the day so I end up staying up WAY to late. Like tonight for instance. ha! Oh well, they aren't going to sew themselves.

Speaking of sleep....I'm going to bed!! Hopefully BR won't wake up any tonight. I could really use at least a solid 6 hours of sleep. We'll see!

p.s. I almost forgot...Check out my first attempt at little slippers for BR. They are a bit big so I'm going to narrow the pattern before I try making them again. Truthfully, they aren't easy to make so I'll probably end up buying some from Little Posh Bebe because hers are ADORABLE and they are totally worth the $30. Trust me!

BR at 13 Months Old

I'm not sure about her weight and height this month. I know that she's growing because some of her clothes have gotten too small (or too short), but I'm not sure just how much. We go to the doctor in April so I guess I'll find out then.

So BR has been really busy this past month, ha, she's busy ALL the time! Here is a list of things BR likes to do:

-She loves playing with puzzles (She still can't put them together very well but she tries)

-She absolutely LOVES to be outside either walking around in the yard, swinging, or playing at the playground.

-She has learned how to slide down the slides at the park without us holding her hands on the way down. We have to help her sit down at the top because otherwise she would just walk/fall down the slide. That would not be good!

-She is only taking 1 bottle in the middle of the night if she wakes up. Thankfully, she has started sleeping through the night again. There are some nights when she does still wake up so I just give her a bottle and she goes straight back to sleep. I know I need to just suck it up and stop giving her the bottle, but it's easy so I do it. hmm?

-She has a new baby doll and stroller that she likes to push around the living room

-She has entered the "sitting in anything she can fit in" stage. haha For the first time about a week ago, I found Brantley sitting in one of her toy buckets with her tea pot and cups in there with her. She would get in and then out, in and then out. So funny!

-She still sits in her infant carseat. She's still under 19 lbs, so we're going to keep her in that carseat until she won't fit or is big enough to move up to her forward facing carseat. We are goign to try and wait until she's at least 18 months before turning her around. Possibly longer. I just want her to be as safe as possible and I feel that rear-facing is the safest position for her until shes older.

-Foods she loves: mandarin oranges, cheese, strawberries, broccoli, crackers, chex cereal, Buddy Fruit, chicken, mac 'n cheese, sweet potato fries, puffs, granola bars, milk, juice and water. Brantley is a great eater and I'm very thankful for that.
-Words she says: DaDa, NaNa, Oh Wee, and "a da" All Done. She still won't say Momma and it makes me sad. Some times I think she wont say it just because I'm asking. When I do tell her to "Say Momma" she looks at me smiles and says "Dada". Stinker!!

Chase and I are so amazed at how much Brantley is growing, changing and learning everyday. It's so fun to watch her explore everything around her. We love her more than words can describe!
