BR at 6 Months Old

It's hard to believe she's 6 months old already.

On Tuesday, we went for Brantley Rae's 6 month check up. She was so active that it was crazy. I couldn't keep her from wiggling all over the table. I should have taken a picture of the piece of paper that they had covering the table. She totally crumpled it all up. It was pretty funny. Dr. S even chuckled a little when he walked in.

Dr. S said that she looks great. She's still small but she very healthy.

Weight: 13 lbs 10.5oz (15th percentile)

Length: 26.5 inches (90th percentile)

Diapers: size 2

Clothes: 3-6 months

Naps 3-4 times a day

Eats a lot more solids now. At least 2 solid meals a day. 

She's still drinking at least 5 bottles a day.

At 6 months Brantley:

-Still takes a pacy

-Sleeps from 8:30pm-7:00am and only wakes up once around 3:30am

-Is up on all fours and rocking back and forth. She isn't crawling yet but I think she will be by 7 months for sure.

-Loves her Johnny Jump Up

-Giggles and smiles ALL the time

-Is such a happy baby

-Loves watching Marley. She looks at her and laughs. When I get her up from her naps she looks down at the floor to see if Marley has come into her bedroom. It's so cute!!

-She still falls asleep on her own, which is wonderful!

These turned out really cute. I'm so happy with them.

We tried to take some pictures of her in her baby dedication dress this afternoon and this is my favorite one. I'll share the others later.

She is such a sweet baby and we love her so so much!

Kiki's 4th Birthday!!

On Monday, Kearstyn turned 4 years old. I can hardly believe it!! It seems like just the other day I was going over to Ashley's house to meet her for the first time. Kearstyn is full of personality and totally adorable. Monday night, a few of us went to dinner at Mariachi to celebrate her birthday. She was so excited and knew that it was her day. She couldn't wait to get her ice cream and for us to sing Happy Birthday to her. So cute! Unfortunately, they don't give the birthday person a sombrero to wear and they don't sing, so that was a bummer, but we still sang and it was great.

House Project - Number 2

A few weeks ago we finally had our new septic tank and field lines put in. This is a weird thing to blog about but I want to document it anyways. We didn't take any pictures of them laying the field lines but here are a few of the new tank. 

Next on the list is to get our plans drawn up by an architect.

She's Up and Rockin'

This is Brantley's new trick. She is now pulling her knees up under her and rocking back and forth. She's gonna be crawling so soon!! Chase and I have got to start baby proofing the house now.

Number 5...Check

Number 5 on my list of 101 things to do it 1001 days was to grow my hair out as long as I could. I don't have a very good picture of my hair long and I forgot to take one before I went to get my hair cut. Oops! You can tell it's pretty long even though it's curly from the picture on the left. It was taken on Father's Day. The picture on the right was taken yesterday but it's not a great picture of my hair cut either. Still you get the jist and I'm checking it off my list.

Cornhole Tournament

Yesterday afternoon, Chase, BR and I went out to Shadowlake Driving Range to meet up with some friends so the guys could play in a Cornhole tournament. We had a really great time and the guys are already talking about going back. There was also talk about making their own cornhole boards and corn bags (that's my job).

Chase and Sam were a team, Rob and Morris were a team and Trevor and Chad were a team. Trevor and Chad went out early, then Chase and Sam lost to Rob and Morris. We had to leave so I'm not sure who ended up winning the tournament. Maybe Marcie can comment and let me know. 

It was extremely HOT out there but we survived. BR was loving her sippy cup with water in it. Thank goodness because she was sweating like a little piglet. ha! Marcie was very sweet with BR and loved holding and playing with her. Thanks for loving on her Marcie!

She the picture on the bottom where she's on all fours. Yep, she's really starting to get the hang of it. She even rocks back and fourth when she's up like that. So cute!! Devin was there playing music outside the restaurant and Tiffany came by for about 30 minutes but then had to get back to studying.

We really had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

Number 83...Check

On Friday, July 16th, 2010, my friend Ashley W had her baby boy, Westin Heath Waldrop. Yesterday, Ashley K and I went up to the hospital to meet the little guy. He's so cute and looks a lot like his big sister and his Daddy.

Ashley's sister, Sarah and her daughter, Maggie were there visiting as well. Maggie is the baby girl in the top right picture of the collage. Maggie and Westin are 2 months apart. Westin was asleep the whole time we were there and only made a few squeaks. 

Congratulations to Ashley, Heath and Ava Reese on the birth of little Westin. He is such a wonderful addition to your sweet little family and I'm very glad I got to meet him already.

Number 18...Check

On Friday afternoon, Chase, BR and I piled up in PawPaw's new truck and headed down to Millbrook to take Brantley to meet her Great Great Grandmother. Granny Brantley is Chase's great grandmother and his mom's grandmother, hence her being named Granny Brantley. She was so over joyed to finally meet Brantley Rae and get to hold our sweet baby girl. We got some GREAT pictures of them together. See...

Aren't those toothless grins so cute? I just LOVE this picture so so much!!!

We had a wonderful time visiting with Granny and Chase's Granddaddy and Janet. What a special time it was! 

After visiting for a while we all went to the Catfish House for dinner. I had never been there before but I'm already planning another trip back there because the food was really good.

Lifesavers with Brantley Rae

Number 1: Static Ratio Station

Ever since Brantley was a newborn and she would get fussy in the car, I could turn the radio on a static station and she IMMEDIATELY stopped crying. I'm not kidding! It works! I still do it now and it still works. Usually the only reason she starts crying is because she's tired and that white noise puts her right to sleep. I'm not sure what I would have done without this lifesaver.

 Number 2: NUK Genius Pacifier

 I'm not sure what it is about this specific pacifier, but it's the only one Brantley has ever taken. It's an orthodontic pacifier (by NUK), so I guess it's suppose to be better for the teeth that she doesn't have yet. ha!
She sleeps with one and we take one in her carseat. I wasn't sure that I was going to let her be a pacifier baby but what the heck, it keeps her quiet and helps her go to sleep so I'm all for it now. We'll loose it on down the road when the time is right. Probably around her 1 year birthday. We'll see.

Number 3: Aden & Anais Blankets

These blankets were and still are mine and Brantley's favorite blankets. They are extremely soft, breathable and PERFECT for swaddling. They are big enough to swaddle in but the wonderful thing was that they didn't let her get too hot.
I used them for a nursing cover when I didn't have my other one, we swaddled with them every night for about 2 or 3 months. I think we will use these blankets until they just wear out and fall apart.
Love them!

Number 4: Noise Makers

This sound machine by Graco has been wonderful. I take it in the car with me every where we go so that just in case I need to put her down for a nap, I'll have it to help her sleep better. She sleeps with ocean sounds every night from my iPod so this has been a great portable sound machine to have.
A second sound machine I have loved having is the Sleep Sheep On the Go. It's been wonderful to have in restaurants when BR is napping or anywhere that she's in her carseat and needing to rest.
Once again, I'm not sure what I would do without these product.

Number 5: Exersaucer

Brantley LOVES her Exersaucer. Like I've said before, this is by far, our best toy purchase yet. I can put her in it pretty much anytime and she's happy. She is teething right now, or either just loving to chew on everything, so all the toys on the side are perfect. As you can see in the picture, the giraffe is one of her favorites.
I bought this off Craigslist for $20 from a lady that lives in Bluff Park. Sweet!!
They don't make her exact one any more but all the other options are very cute as well.

Number 6: Johnny Jump Up

Our Johnny Jump Up is about to take over as Brantley's #1 favorite toy. She LOVES to be on her feet and jumping is the best. We borrowed this and the Jumperoo from our friends the Cowart's and I'm so very thankful.
We hang it from the door frame in between our living room and kitchen. Brantley just jumps and jumps while she watches me cook, clean, or she watches Marley run around her. I've videoed her a few times so hopefully I can get those posted soon. They're pretty funny.

Okay well it's late and I'm having trouble thinking of anymore at the moment. Maybe I'll add some more later if I think of them. I hope everyone is having a good week. If you're a new mom or currently expecting or even if you aren't pregnant but plan to be one day, consider purchasing or borrowing all of these things. They are SO helpful!

Wordless Wednesday

Fun Friday Night

Last night we went to dinner with Sarah, Will and their daughter, Alice. After dinner we went up to Wald Park so the girls could swing for a few minutes and then we went to Yogurt Lab for some yummy dessert. We had a great time!!

These girls are such cuties!!

July 4th Weekend

On Friday the 2nd we went down to Lake Jordan to hang out with Chase's family for the 4th. We had a really great time and BR got to "swim" in the lake for the first time. She loved it!! It was wonderful to visit with all of Chase's family because we really don't see them enough and most of the had not met Brantley yet. 

Sunday night, 4th on July, we went up to a building over by Brookwood Hospital to watch, Thunder on the Mountain, aka fireworks. We had such a great time and ended up with some of the best seats in town. My brother and his family and my parents also joined us. Here are a few pictures.

Girls Night Out

Tuesday night, myself and these wonderful ladies all got together at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. We've started getting together once a month just to catch up and have a good time. This month we were actually celebrating Ashley and Jami's birthdays. We talked, laughed and just had a really great time! It was nice to get away for a night and have some adult conversation with some of my favorite girl friends.

I can't wait until next month! Our get together is going to be whenever Ashley W's little boy, Westin, is born. I'm so excited there's going to be a little boy in the bunch now. Yay!
