BR at 9 Months

 Brantley Rae turned 9 months old this past Thursday. I can hardly believe how fast time is flying by and how much she has grown already. She is such a joy! Chase and I are so truly blessed to have her as our daughter. We are totally in love and I can't imagine my life without her anymore.

Friday we went to the doctor for her 9 month check up. These are her stats:

Weight: 15 pounds 13 ounces (Still a little girl!)

Height: 27 1/2 inches tall

Diapers: Size 2 (I think we'll stay in size 2 for a while)

Clothes: 6-9 months mostly. 9 month pants and sleeves are still long on her but the pants actually do fit in the waist surprisingly.

Shoes: Size 3 but she doesn't ever wear them. I have a pair of Robeez and a pair of Bobux shoes that are really cute and she likes to wear them because they fit well but she can still move around good.

Naps: 2-3 times a day

Eats: Breakfast and lunch for sure and sometimes dinner with bottles in between. She's still a light eater so it's hard for me to get her to actually eat 3 meals a day and drink enough bottles. She LOVES to feed herself so anything I can fix for her that she can pick up usually makes it into her mouth and tummy. Which means that she rarely ever eats baby food anymore. She still likes oatmeal and maybe baby food fruit for breakfast but for lunch and dinner I have to think of thing she can feed herself that are easy to gum up.

Foods she likes: Chicken, cheerios, kiwi fruit, mandarin oranges, peaches, green beans, sweet peas, pasta, Gerber puffs and lil' crunchies, yogurt, oatmeal and I'm sure there is other stuff that I can't think of at the moment. She loves to drink water and juice also.

Teeth: None. I'm not even sure that she's really started to teeth yet. Sometimes she'll get fussy and keep her fingers in her mouth like her gums hurt but them other times it doesn't seem to bother her at all. We still can't see any teeth buds either. I really don't mind that she's going to be a late teether because I'm hoping that means we'll spend less money on having cavities filled once she's older.

               

 What is BR up to these days...
-She is crawling all over the place and pulling up on anything that doesn't move and sometimes she tries to stand up on things that do move. The latter doesn't always work out so well for her.
-She's getting into everything so we're having to baby-proof more and more everyday to keep things out of reach.
-She has learned how to make a fishy face. She sucks her checks in and pooches her lips out. It's adorable! I tried to catch a picture of her doing it the other morning at breakfast but of course, every time the light flashes she would stop. Silly baby!
-She can stand in place for a few seconds. We're thinking that she will be walking my Christmas for sure. She is a super mobile baby and if her Daddy keeps working with her she'll be walking in no time. haha!
-Still takes a paci.
-Her hair is really starting to grow. Now I can put bows in it so she doesn't have to wear a headband anymore. :o)
-She has started saying "Momma" but she doesn't know that it's my name yet I don't think. She says it kinda slow and blows a bubble with her mouth. Still music to my ears!!
- She still loves to swing! In a porch swing or at the park. She is happy as a lark!
-She makes the cutest scrunchy-nose face I've ever seen. Look at it in the picture below in the middle. It's that adorable! I'm not sure where she learned. I think I might do it to her and I didn't even notice it until she started doing it. haha Like mother,  like daughter!!

So that's the update on our sweet little pumpkin. She's healthy as a horse and the doctor says she perfect as she can be!! I totally agree with him! :o)

BR's Owl Rag Quilt

 Thursday night I finally finished Brantley Rae's Owl rag quilt I've been working on for a few weeks. It turned out better than I expected and we both LOVE it! See how fluffy it is. So great!! Once she's up and walking around in a couple of months I may try to use it as a rug in her bedroom like Ashley did with AR's. (You can see AR's quilt near the bottom of the post) Ashley's mom made Ava Reese her owl rag quilt for her 2nd birthday. When I saw it I just knew BR had to have one. haha!

So what do you think? Adorable, right? I will say that despite how totally cute it is, it was a total pain to make. Don't take on this challenge if you don't like cutting out lots of different pieces and then sewing them all together. It took me a total about about 20 hours or more to make this sweet quilt. BR better be good to it!! haha It's a rag quilt so I expect her to USE it and LOVE all over it. I'm hoping that it will be one of those things that she remembers when she's older. Love it!!

BR's New Hair-Do

We did this to BR's hair after her bath the other night. I was surprised that she even had enough to make a mowhawk with. So cute! Don't worry she won't be sporting this look outside of the house. It's not girly enough for her. hehe!

p.s. Just so no one freaks out and thinks we're bad parents. We've never actually used the blub suction she is chewing on because it's too big for her nose. ha!

Auburn vs. LSU - Oct. 23rd, 2010

Last weekend, Chase and I left BR with her grandparents and headed down to Auburn for the LSU game. It was so great to be back in Auburn. I just LOVE it there! We must have walked about 10 or more miles that day but it was all totally worth it. I got to see my friend, Tiffany that now lives in Houston, so that was wonderful. I also got to see my old roommate, Kristin, she now lives in Nashville so I never see her either. We also stopped by my friend, Heather's tailgate and after the game we met up with Brittany and Melissa, Jami and her friends and then walked clear across campus to visit with Joe and Katie for a few minutes. We ended up with FREE tickets to the game, which was such a blessing. The game was AMAZING!! WAR CAM EAGLE!!

Before heading home we walked all the way from the RV park on Donahue to North College Street to eat and the Pita Pit. It took forever because the line was really long but once we got our food and sat down to eat it was all worth it. Pita Pit is one of my favorite places in Auburn to eat! Yummy!!

We got back really late so we let BR sleep over at Bebe and PawPaw's house so we didn't have to wake her up. That was nice! 

We had a wonderful time on the plains. Thanks to my Mom and Dad, as well as Beverly and Glenn for taking care of Brantley Rae so we could go to the game and spend a whole day together.

October Birthdays

 On October 13th, Chase, Brantley and I went to Jim 'N Nicks to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We had a really great time and BR was an angel! My brother and his family were there, along with my Aunt Mary Jo, Beverly and some of my parents friends.

To celebrate my 26th birthday, I invited friends and family to come celebrate with me at Sol Azteca in Vestavia. It was really nice to have people come to dinner for me. I don't usually celebrate my birthday by doing anything special so this year's get together was really a treat. As usual, I should have done better about taking pictures with everyone that was there but I forgot. 

Thank you to everyone that was able to make it to dinner. It really meant a lot to me that you took they time to come and celebrate with me.

We Did It!

This morning Brantley and I went to Publix and did our grocery shopping for the week and finally saved MORE than we spent. I'm so excited that I have to share.

We spent $37.27 and saved $52.68!!

 Here is what we bought:
- 3 large cans of Hunts Diced Tomatoes
- 4 Ronzoni Garden Delights pasta
- 2 Ronzoni Healthy Harvest pasta
- 2 Pillsbury Savorings
- 1 pkg Velvetta
- 2 Gordon's Premium Tilapia Fish sticks
- 2 Cole's Garlic Bread products
- 2 boxes Toaster Strudels
- 1 pkg Sandwich Rounds
- 1 bottle Publix Apple Juice
- 1 Publix Creamy Peanut Butter (the Mystery Item...only 1 penny!) I just realized they charged me $2.39 for the Penny item so I will be going back this afternoon to get that fixed.

Items that we bought that aren't pictured:
- 2 fresh Tilapia filets
- 2.29lb Boston Butt
- asparagus
- 2 sweet potatoes
- 1 FREE avacado
- 1 kiwi
- 1 pkg of 4 AA batteries

As awesome as this is I have you credit my wonderful husband for the savings. He is the one that searched the I Heart Publix website for all the coupon deals and printed them all off and cut them out. Even went through the newspaper for some of the coupons. He just told me what to buy. Still as a family we did really great this week.

Old Baker Farm - October 9, 2010

Last Saturday, Chase and I took Brantley to Old Baker Farm with my mom and Alyssa. We all had a really great time even though it was WAY too hot for an October Saturday. Despite the sweat we had a good time! Above are pictures from the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.

Brantley got to take these sweet pictures with a really big pumpkin. There was no way she was gonna look up at us and smile. She was super distracted by the pumpkins. We tried to get pictures of Brantley and Alyssa in the pumpkin patch but neither of the looked or smiled. Better luck next time!

After the hay ride and picking out our pumpkins, Alyssa got to climb the mountain of hay, swing on the tire horse and jump in the cotton trailer. She had so much fun!

 This thing was really tall but she wasn't scared at all. No Fear!!

The cotton was really soft and looked like a lot of fun. Alyssa was doing flips in it and jumping all over the place. It will be so fun in 2-3 years when Brantley can do stuff like this with Alyssa.

I'm so glad we got to go to Old Baker Farm with Mom and Alyssa. We'll have to do better at taking pictures of everyone next time. We didn't take a family picture or one of my mom and the girls. Shucks! We'll just have to do it again before Halloween. Alyssa has the same shirt that BR was wearing but it was WAY too hot to change her into it even for a quick picture.
I'm totally loving this time of year but I'm really ready for fall weather to come back and stick around for good.

Lately...

Brantley has started to show signs of teething but we can't see any teeth buds yet. A few nights ago she was snuggling with Chase while she chewed on a teething ring. It was so sweet so I had to take a picture. She was so happy to be snuggling with her Daddy!

 On Friday, Chase came home from work early so we took the babies outside in the back yard to crawl around and get out some energy. They LOVED it! Being outside makes them happy anytime of the day. They are all over the place inside so it was nice to give them some new scenery.

These are just some other pictures that I took on Friday as well. Both babies are all over the place. Brantley is pulling up to stand on everything and Mason pulls up to his knees. Before too much longer they're gonna both be walking all over our house. Ahh! I'm definitely not ready for that one. haha!
