SHOW US YOUR LIFE - Wedding Party and Flowers

This week I am participating in the weekly carnival over at Kelly's Korner. This week is Show Us Your Wedding Party and Flowers.

Chase and I were married on January 24th, 2009 at the Colonial American Village in Montevallo, Alabama. It was 53 degrees and rained all morning, BUT it cleared up beautifully just in time for pictures and the ceremony. The day was truly a gift from God. It was truly beautiful!

Chase looked extremely handsome in his tux. I was so excited to see him when we had our special moment before the ceremony so we could take pictures before to save time.
I was totally in love more than I had every imagined!

We were SO excited to be getting married that day! Best friends together forever!

The Wedding Party

This is our wonderful wedding party. We had lots of friends and family that we have known for a long time in our wedding party.

See how beautiful we all looked! hehe I'll explain who everyone is in the next few pictures.

The Girls

Left to right: Tori -Little girl that I have watched grow up and help raise since day one. She is like a little sister to me and I couldn't get married without having her and her big sister by my side.
Brittany and I have been friends since 5th grade. We were inseparable! We are still close and hang out as much as we can. We have been there for each other for years. She is a great friend that I love very much! I got to be in her wedding in May. What an honor!
Erin -Maid of Honor, I'll explain more about her in just a minute. Skip Me.
Ashley is my niece. She is a very sweet young lady that I am enjoying getting to know.
Jami has been my friend the longest out of all of my friends. 15 years, we met in 2nd grade! I love her! She has been a wonderful friend to me through the years and I will be here for her always as she has been for me as well.
Lauren is Tori's older sister. She and I are probably the closest between all the Bachofer kids because she is the oldest and we've always been able to talk. I love there whole family. They are my second family seeing as I've known them for over 13 years.
(p.s. There were a few other girls that I REALLY wish I could have had in my wedding as well but I just didn't have room and I couldn't have 8 bridesmaids. Ashley W. and Lauren, again I'm sorry I wasn't able to have you in my wedding but you were up there in my heart, if that makes sense. I love you both very much and am very thankful for our friendship over the years.)

Here she is, Erin, the wonderfully beautiful Maid of Honor. Erin and I have been friends for about 5 years. We met while counseling at a summer camp here in Alabama. She has always supported me even when she didn't agree with my decisions. I have never had a sweeter, kinder, more genuine friend than her. She is truly an AMAZING girl! I love her too!

These are our adorable flower girls. On the left is my little cousin Abby and on the right is my also adorable niece Alyssa. Both of them behaved themselves wonderfully and they were so very sweet. I couldn't have asked for better flower girls!

On to the BOYS!

All of Chase's groomsmen are friends from high school, except of course his Dad was his best man. Everyone of his groomsmen have supported Chase over the years. Chase's mom passed away some years back and all these boys were there during that time to support him. What amazing friends!

Chase couldn't have chosen a more perfect Best Man. He and his dad are best friends when it comes to guy stuff. They have become extremely close and it is so wonderful to watch them work together. I love my new father-in-law very much! He's great!

The Flowers

My pretty bouquet! Just what I asked for.

Since it was so cold outside we decided not to use flowers outside on the wreaths and I thought it turned out simple but elegant.

These are my Bridesmaid bouquets. I loved the rich colors that the florist was able to put together. They looked great in the pictures and I loved them!

This is what the big arrangements looked like. We used them during the ceremony and the reception. I wasn't totally happy with all the green, I wish there had been more color, but they were fine and they did the job.

Overall we had a great wedding party and beautiful flowers. Next week I'll be showing the reception and ceremony, I think. I can't wait to share!

Crib and Gate

Yay! Tonight after dinner we went to BabiesR'US and ordered Brantley's crib. This is our first big purchase and I'm so excited! They said it is here in their warehouse and it will ship to the store in 7-14 days. Hopefully they (the lady at the store) will be right on that guess.

Here it is...

We got it in this color. It's going to be SO pretty! We're hoping that it matches or comes close to matching the furniture that we have in our guest room. Those pieces are a dresser and desk that my dad refinished for me to use during college and I really love them and want to use them in the nursery. Hopefully they'll match!!

While we were there, we also bought this gate for the door into the nursery to keep Marley out of there.

To be honest, we aren't totally happy with it. We do like that it's ex-tall so that little Brantley won't be able to climb over it, BUT it is hard to open and really loud when we open it. Not a good aspect when we'll be carrying a sleeping baby into the nursery to put down. Hmm? We're thinking about taking it back. What do you think?

Marley barked at us a lot while we put it up because she wasn't sure what the heck was going on. Eventually, Chase got her to come down the hall and she saw that the big white thing wasn't going to hurt her. It was pretty funny watching her freak out because she was bouncing backwards as she barked. Funny girl!!

I got her to come take a picture with me once she was more comfortable. She can be a pain but I LOVE her! She has been keeping me company this summer while we've been home during the day by ourselves. It's been nice having her around for sure.

I wanna know

does anyone read my blog? My friend Misty asked this question and I thought it was a good idea.

I love to blog and I'm just wondering if anyone else enjoys reading my/our blog. I hope so! I try to make it interesting to read but I'm not the most creative person on the planet. To be honest, I'm not a creative writer AT ALL. Hopefully I'll get better once Brantley gets here.

Anyways, I hope you're all having a wonderful Thursday afternoon/evening.

Kearstyn's 3rd Birthday Party

Last Sunday, Chase and I went to Kearstyn's 3rd birthday party at the JUMP ZONE in Pelham. I can't believe Kiki is already 3 years old. She's getting so big and tall like her mommy and daddy.

They have this cool baseball game. Air blows up through that yellow cone to hold the ball and then you hit the ball toward the wall. Kiki hit it towards me but that's okay because she was the birthday girl.

This is Kiki and her mommy sliding, really fast, down the big slide. Kiki's party was here last year as well and it was so great when I could play. I obviously just had to watch this year but I really hated that I couldn't slide with her this time. Next year I'll be good to go!

Devin and Chase of course had to take a turn at baseball. Funny!
Chase and I also played AirHockey and I kicked his butt. 9 to 4 I think was the final score when he finally walked away. hehe! :0)

Here is the birthday girl sliding down her favorite slide. This blow-up is an obstacle course that they had to climb through. Then they had to climb up to the top of the slide and once again like the other big slide this one is really fast and fun! Kiki and the other kids and even some adults LOVED the slides!

Brantley Wiggles

Today I went to the doctor and had a screening test done for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18. The doctor said that the baby looked great and she kept saying, "that's really good!" while she was doing the screening. Yay! I was relieved to hear her say that the baby looked good. Also while she was doing the ultrasound, Brantley wiggled the whole time. It was so cute to see how much he/she wiggles, even though I can't feel it yet. I love it!

Our baby is a mover big time already. We are overly excited about seeing him/her again.

Doctor Days

Today I went for my 12 week check up to see Dr. S. It went well and she gave me a good report on myself and Brantley. I haven't gained any weight since my last visit and my blood pressure was good. Once I got in to see her she did the Doppler so we could hear the baby's heart beat. At first she had a bit of trouble finding the right place. She made the comment that Brantley was going to be a "stubburn" baby. She was of course kidding but it was kinda true. Finally after a minute or two of searching she found the baby's heart beat. It was 160bpm today. That is a lot faster than the first time we heard it so now I'm kinda confused. The old wives tale about HR at first said BOY because the baby's HR was 119bpm. But today the HR was 160bpm, so the wives tale says GIRL now. Hmm? What will it be? Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the end of September when I'm 20 weeks to find out the gender. Boy or Girl we don't care, as long as he or she is healthy we'll be happy!
Tomorrow will be a big day as well because I'm having a genetic screening test done at UAB. Please pray with us that everything looks good during the test and that our baby is developing normally with no problems. Thanks in advance for the prayers!

Mr. and Mrs. Justin Lee Morris

Last night, Chase and I got to go to the wedding of Justin Lee Morris and Marcie Leigh Rogers. It was so nice! Everything was wonderful. Chase has been friends with Justin since high school and he was a groomsman in the wedding.

The ceremony went smoothly and was very nice.

Once again, not a good picture, but this was the couple dancing there first dance. I'm not sure what song they danced to but it was a beautiful song. I really liked it!

I love my husband! He is amazing and being at their wedding reminded me all the reasons I married him. He is sweet, caring, loving, silly, honest and everything else I could want in a husband. He is the love of my life!

All the bridesmaids and Marcie's closest friends performed a dance to and mix of songs. It was really cute and they all looked like they were having a blast, especially Mrs. Morris!

Marcie looked so pretty! Her dress was beautiful!

Chase and I really enjoyed hanging out with our friends at the reception. I had never been to the B&A Warehouse before and I really liked it. The decorations and food were wonderful!

Instead of birdseed, bubbles or rose petals we threw popcorn at the happy couple as they left the reception and climbed into and carriage.

The horse and carriage took them to the Tutwiler were they spent their first night together.

CONGRATULATIONS Justin and Marcie on your marriage!!

The Club and 12 week Belly

Last night Chase and I went to Marcie and Justin's wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at The Club. Dinner was so nice and yummy! The decorations were simple but prefect. We had name cards at our seats and little candy gift boxes as well.

We got to walk out on this balcony thing that overlooks the city. It was beautiful! Everyone was taking pictures. It was a lot of fun!

You can't really see my "belly" in this picture but I wasn't thinking about my belly post when we took the picture. The next one is a little better.

(p.s. I'm not sure what Devin is doing in the back of this picture. ha!)
Ashley wanted to put her hand on my little belly for this picture so it's still hard to see, but it's there. Brantley is inside there growing like a weed.

I go back to the doctor on Monday so hopefully I'll get a good report that everything is looking good. I'm also hoping that we can make the sonogram appointment for some time in September.

Anyways, I'm off to get ready for Justin and Marcie's wedding. It's going to be beautiful! The ceremony is going to be at St. Mark's UMC in Vestavia and the reception is going to be at the B&A Warehouse. I'm really excited about the reception because I've never been there before. I'll share pictures tomorrow maybe.

Show Us Your Life

This week over at Kelly's Corner she is hosting Show Us Your Wedding dress. I'm a few days late but I wanted to do it anyways.

This is my wedding dress. I got it on sale and a bridal shop here in Birmingham (actually Roebuck). It was WAY too big when we bought it but those seamstress ladies worked magic and it fit me beautifully. I was so in love with the beading on the top and the tool (sp?) at the bottom.

In this picture you can see the beading at the top of the dress.

I'm disappointed that you can't really see the detailing on my dress in these pictures on here, but it was and is GORGEOUS!!
