Tiffany & Our Quilt

Tiffany came to visit me!! YAY!!

Yesterday my college friend, Tiffany, drove down from PA to visit with Chase and I on her long, round-about way to her home in TX. I cooked Chicken Linguine for dinner and we watched almost all two hours of So You Think You Can Dance. We had a great time catching up and laughing. She brought her dog Jersey with her and Marley really liked Jers. They tried to play but Jersey wasn't a fan of our hardwood floors so it didn't go so well.
I'm so thankful Tiffany got to stop by and visit. I hate that I only get to see her once a year.

QUILT

So this is the current state of my quilt that I'm making for Chase and I. I sewed on the piano keys at the top and bottom today. I started on the border today but I didn't have time to sew it on the quilt.
I'm really nearing the end of finishing the top. There are 3 borders left for me to do, so I'll be busy this summer finishing this up.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend. Chase and I are going to dinner with his parents tonight, a wedding tomorrow and taking family pictures on Sunday. Hopefully we'll make time for some friends in there somewhere.

Marley Went Swimming

Sunday after church, Chase and I went down to Prattville to his Uncle Mike's house. He and his family were having a couple friends and family over for an afternoon of fun. Chase and I were pretty excited about getting away and visiting family.

Mike and Kim have a pool in their backyard and it was really nice. It didn't even rain until late Sunday night/Monday morning.

Marley and I enjoying the sunshine! She actually went swimming and did pretty good but the water was cold so she didn't like that part very much. I hate that we didn't get a picture of her swimming but we forgot.

As you can see, she was LOVING being outside and off her leash. We were a little worried about letting her off her leash but there was so much going on she wasn't running off anywhere.
We had a WONDERFUL day!!

So I Dyed My Hair Red

What do you think? I think I like it but it's only been a few hours. Chase seemed okay with it and his dad said it looked nice. Yay!!

I've been thinking about taking the plunge and trying red for a while and I decided this morning that today was the day.

So first action of the summer. I'm so excited that I don't have to go to school for a few months. Heck Yes!!

Schools Out for Summer

Yay! Today was our last day of school for the kids to be there. I do have to go in for a little while tomorrow but after tomorrow I'm free for the summer and I just can't wait!!! I'm so thankful the different school ended up being a good experience.

So...Now onto the summer. Chase and I are getting ready to put our house on the market and begin searching for a bigger house that we can call home. Please pray for us during this time because so far it's been pretty stressful for us both because there is a lot to do and we're trying to do it quickly.
Well I guess I'm going to bed. It's almost our bedtime (9:00pm) but we're exhausted so were retiring a few minutes early. I hope everyone is doing well.
Please keep Gaines in your prayers. Stay updated on his situation at his parents blog. Pray for healthy lungs and heart. Thanks! He has such a sweet family. My hope is that they will all get to come home to Montgomery, AL soon. God is in control and Gaines' care is in his hands. Praise the Lord for his little life!

Show Us Where You Live Friday

Welcome to our Guest room!
This room is filled with my furniture from my parents house/the furniture that I took to college with me. I love it all!

This photo was taken from the doorway of our guest room. We have a pretty small/quaint house that we love very much! This bed frame was given to my grandparents when they got married. It has been in our family for a really long time. Wow, if that bed could talk...hmm? What would it say?!!

This is a picture from over by the closet. My Dad refinished that desk for me before I left for college and I still love it 5 years later. He actually refinished all the furniture in this room. He is wonderful! Thanks Dad!
I, myself, actually made the picture board above the desk when I was in college and absolutely love it. I can change the pictures out every now and then which is really great. I was able to make it for less than what I would have paid for one this big.

I have books on the bottom and a picture of my parents and I from my college graduation on top. WAR EAGLE!!

This is the dresser that my Dad refinished. I actually helped with this one and the desk.

This beautiful jewelry box was given to me by my wonderful husband. It actually used to be his late mother's. His mom passed away a few years back so I never got to meet her but it is really neat that I have something of hers that was special to her.
Lastly, this is the cute shelf that's also above the desk. I really like the SMILE sign! It makes me smile!! :0)

I know I'm really late but I wanted to blog about our kitchen anyways. I hope you all enjoy!!
Welcome to our Kitchen!!

This is the view of our kitchen from over by the washer and dryer. This table used to be Chase's parents. We like it and it has a matching china cabinet.

See, look how pretty!

This is our Fine China. I really love it! It's Parchment by MIKASA. Not the greatest picture but I tried.

Chase and his dad put in all the cabinets when they remodeled the house. They did a great job and I love them!

This is looking across the kitchen from over by the sink. As you can see our laundry room is also in our kitchen. I really don't like this but it's better than not having a washer and dryer at all.

These are our Everyday dishes. I absolutely LOVE them!! Ironically, about 3 or more of my friends have the same dishes. They are mix and match so none of us have the same combination. The paisley is what I like about them so much.

Laundry area. That's all I have to say about it.

This photo was taken from our kitchen door. Chase actually picked out this beautiful furniture before I was even around. He has pretty good taste!!
This photo was taken from in front of our TV. The wall looks green in this picture but it's actually brown. Chase spent over 24-26 hours painting and sponging it. It looks great!!
Here is a photo of our table that is behind the couch. You can see it as you walk in the front door. The wood work is beautiful! I love the marble top on this table and the coffee table. Once again, Chase did a great job picking all the furniture out.

It was awesome because Brittany was totally surprised. Her face was priceless when Michael came walking out.

It's been almost 4 months since our wedding.

We had to Cbussle Brittany's dress and I thought this was a cool picture too.

I'm at work right now so I'll have to add more pictures later this afternoon when I get home.

Brittany's Bachelorette weekend

Last weekend, I went to the beach with a bunch of girls for my friend Brittany's bachelorette party. Jami, Brittany and I went down on Thursday night after work. Friday we spent a lot of time out on the beach and I got a little burned from sitting outside at lunch. My burn was on the left side of my neck. The weather was HOT but wonderful!
Friday night we had hamburgers at the trailer that Britt's mom cooked us. They were really good! We went out to Baytowne Warf after dinner. That was a blast! I had never been in there but it was a hopping place. We went to the Village Door for a little dancing and people watching.

Saturday was a later morning and we were really late getting out to the beach. The bridesmaids all wore black bathing suits and Brittany wore a white one with her pink veil. Britt's mom was there to take lots of pictures of us. The pictures turned out so so cute!!

We had lunch at Pompano Joe's while it was looking a little cloudy. After a few hours back out on the beach, I was tired, burned and ready to go. So Tami, Mandy and I went back to the house early to take showers and get ready for our big night out on the town.

Brittany wore a white dress with her pink sash (that Tami and I made) and her pink tiara and veil. All the bridesmaids wore black dresses and pink beaded necklaces. We all looked so cute! We took some really great pictures in and out of the limo. Yes, we rented a limo to take us around for a few hours to get the night started just right. Our limo driver was really nice and took us to some great places. We drove through the outdoor mall with our rating cards screaming, yelling and having a fabulous time! We also went by the Track to drive go carts. It was SO MUCH fun!

Our driver then took us to a new restaurant/bar called Breeze. It hasn't opened yet but we got to go in for a sneak preview. There was a band playing so we got to dance for a while, which was really fun. Next we went to a place called Aqua. It was okay but we didn't stay there very long. We walked to AJs from there and then took a taxi to Club Overboard. That is where we finished out our night. We all had a great time! There were many rooms in Overboard with different types of music playing so that was really cool.

Overall, we had a fabulous time celebrating Brittany's last weekend as a single lady. Brittany and Paul get married tomorrow, 5:30 at the Sonnet House. Britt is going to be a beautiful bride!! I can't wait to watch her walk down the asile.
