BR at 19 Months Old

Brantley Rae at 19 Months Old

Weight: Between 20 and 21 pounds
Height: I'm not sure but around 32"
Diapers: Still in size 3
Shoes: size 5
Clothes: This one is kinda tricky. She is wearing 12-18 month shirts but I'm still buying her 6-9 month shorts depending on the store. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to make most of her pants for the fall and winter because of how skinny she is so I can make the pants long enough.
Of course, I don't mind about that. It just gives me an excuse to buy fabric and sew cute clothes for her. :o)
Teeth: I think she has eleven.

We have an appointment with an orthodontist in our future. hehe!

      • Brantley Rae LOVES to play.play.play all the time.
      • She enjoys coloring and painting
      • Her new favorite foods are apples, corn on the cob and cinnamon-sugar toast
      • Still takes a pacy but we're about to be changing that. She has become more attatched to her pacy and blanket over the past few months and it's getting ridiculous. She's old enough to not "need" it anymore so we're starting the weening process this weekend. First step...pacy stays in the crib when she wakes up and gets out of bed.
      • Brantley is talking SO much and learning new words every day. It's so awesome to see/hear her learning so much each day.
      • She' is starting to show more interest in baby dolls this month. Before she never paid them any attention but now she will actually sit and feed her baby doll her bottle and give her the pacy. It's pretty cute!!
These are my two very favorite people in the world. I am so thankful for both of them each and every day. The Lord has blessed me greatly with an amazing family and for that I am grateful.
I can't wait to see what God has in store for our sweet baby girl and for our little family. Good things to come!!

Snack and Preschool

August 17th - Enjoying some yummy cheese for a snack and rocking her new piggy tails!!
"Do you like see-food?" haha (Sorry if that grosses anyone out!)

August 23rd - I took this picture the night before Brantley's first day of preschool.
August 24th - First day of Preschool.
It's really hard for Chase and I to believe that she is old enough to be in preschool but I'm so happy that she is. Brantley LOVES her teacher and really seems to be liking school. I thought not napping until after one o'clock was going to be a huge deal but she has transitions beautifully.
I look forward to hearing all about the new things she learns as she continues to talk more and more every day. She really is a smart little girl!!
She was a happy muchkin!!

As far as my job goes, I'm loving it as well. I get to hold and rock adorable little babies all morning. It really is a perfect job for me!! There have only been a few moments when all 4-5 babies were hungry or sleepy at the same time and the crying got out of control,  but my co-teacher and I have it all under control. ha! I'm so thankful for my job and for the opportunity that Brantley is getting to start preschool already. Yay!

Frontier Canyon

This is the furniture that we bought for our downstairs den. We will have 2 recliners and a sleeper sofa. They are so comfortable and I can't wait to have them downstairs.

I didn't think I was going to be able to find a picture of it but Chase found these on the website so I wanted to share them. We're hoping that we'll have the furniture by football season.

Busy Bees

This post post isn't going to have any pictures, but I wanted to post some family updates for myself and those of you who actually read blogspots without pictures. haha

Hall Bathroom Update: Chase got the walls painted last weekend and they look great! We still need to buy the cabinets and a nice laundry basket. Then it will be pretty much finished.

Downstairs Den Update: Chase and I hooked up our new TV for the den on Friday. The coolest part is that we have a Logitech Revue or "Google TV" as it's commonly referred to. So far it's working really well and we love it! All of that will be even better once our furniture for that room comes in. It might be another 3-4 weeks but hopefully sooner. I would share a picture but I can't because Ashley furniture doesn't have an online catalog. Bummer! We bought a sleeper sofa and 2 recliners.

Kitchen Update: Chase and I went to my Granny and Granddaddy's house yesterday afternoon to pick up some furniture to use in our house. We brought home their kitchen table and chairs, a rocking chair, a toy box, a desk and a stool. We will be re-refinishing the table and chairs so that they will match the kitchen decor (white with a brown glaze wash). I'm pretty excited about this project. I've been wanting to re-finish a piece of furniture for a couple of months and now I finally get the chance. Before and after pictures to come.

BR's Preschool/My Work Update: This year Brantley will be attending Shades Crest Baptist Weekday Early Education Program Monday-Thursday every week. I'll be working there as well in the Babies room (3-6 months). I'm really excited about getting back to work because I've been wanting to get out of the house some and I think Brantley is at the perfect age to start her in preschool. She needs that structure, routine, and social interaction with other children her age. I'm glad that I'll be there with her in case she doesn't adjust well but I'm hoping for the best and that she'll do great and have a blast!
I start tomorrow with orientation and training on Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the week, we get to work in our classrooms. We meet our students next Tuesday and class begins on Wednesday the 24th.
**If you are looking for a preschool for your child, Shades Crest does have some openings left in the program so give AnnMarie Jordan a call if you'd like more information.**

Off to church and then back to start working on the furniture. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!! God Bless!!!

Photo Dump Post

Brantley and her Bebe at our weekly Wednesday night dinner this past week.
Brantley loves to go "vroom vroom" at Buffalo Wild Wings after dinner when we eat there.
She loves it and hates when we tell her it's time to go. But she tells the game "all done, bye bye" and off we go.
Last Friday night, we went to the Homewood park for a cookout with our church and we had a really great time. Check out this sweet girls CRAZY hair! I mean really! There is no helping that mop when it's humid and windy. She needed a hat!! haha
Brantley's friend, Marina got to spend the day with us a few weekends ago. They had SO much fun and were pretty much non-stop playing the whole day. They love each other!
 Future artists.
I found Brantley Rae this adorable cheerleading uniform at Wal-Mart last week. I'm so excited about football season and now Brantley is ready!! War Eagle!!
Brantley and her Bears. They are her favorite toys to play with at her Bebe and PawPaw's house. She puts them in and out of the basket. They ride in her car with her around the house. There is not a time that she goes over there to play when she hasn't gotten them out and played.
She loves to pretend and experiment with the keys on the computer. We don't usually let her touch our computers all that much put PawPaw didn't stop her right away while we were at his house.

Our New Home

I'm finally ready to update the blog and show off pictures of our new house. We have lots of projects to tackle over the next few months and years, but for now it is livable and we are loving it!

This is a little photo tour of the house. It's so great!!
Sorry if the comments in the pictures are too small. I think if you click on the picture it will open in a new window bigger so that you can read them.
Every time I drive up to the house or leave, I still look at the house and think, "Gosh, that house is beautiful!" Then I think, "and it's ours!!!!" God is so good!!!
The kitchen is wonderful and it's one of the major reasons why we love the house so much. It's HUGE!! There is a window seat and a banquet seat with 3-4 seats per bench. there are currently 3 spots at the island, but we will be adding 2 more spots when we replace the green corian with a white piece that hangs off this side of the island as well. So that's 5 more spot to sit. Then we will be getting a kitchen table and chairs that will have 4-6 chairs.
That's a grand total of 15-19 seats in the kitchen. We can't wait to have people over and everyone sit in the same room!!
One of the updates we took care of yesterday was replacing the old, leaky kitchen faucet with this pretty new one. I love it so much! That old one would spit and spatter every time we turned in on and it leaked a lot when we used it. It was quite a task getting the old one off and the new one on but Chase finally found the right tools and we were able to get it installed and working last night in time to wash dishes from dinner.
Right now this is our only living room/den area because we haven't bought furniture for downstairs yet. Eventually this will be our more formal living room and downstairs will be more comfy.
I wasn't sure I wanted to use this furniture but now that I see it in the dining room I think I like it.
This bathroom is my next project. I'm hoping to go buy the paint when BR wakes up from her nap. I'll take pictures when I'm done and post them.
Brantley's room is almost finished. I need shelves and a mirror for above her dresser/changing table and I think I'm going to order a vinyl decal with her name or initials for over her bed. Or I may just repaint the letters we had in her nursery at the other house and use them again.
I love the way this room is turning out. I have a few more things to buy and hang before it is finished but so far, I love it! (I realize now that I spelled vinyl wrong in the picture comments. Oops!)
My hope is that putting the brown pillows in between the white bedding and the cream fabric pillows will work out and end up looking just right. I want this room to have a Pottery Barn look so that's what I'm going for.
This is the third bathroom that is in between my sewing room/Chase's office and the laundry room. Laundry room? Yes, we now have a wonderful laundry room, I just haven't taken any pictures of it since we moved in. hmm? Maybe I'll go do that and share those next time.

So that's it! The only other rooms I didn't post about are the master bathroom, the downstairs bedroom and the downstairs den. The master bathroom is tiny with lavender tile and white walls. There is no helping that bathroom without tearing it out and that is just not in the budget right now so Chase is just going to have to live with it. haha! The downstairs bedroom is a mess. We still need to buy a desk for Chase to use as his office space and I need a cabinet or dresser to keep my sewing stuff in. Once we get those things I'll post pictures.  And lastly, the downstairs den is currently being used as a huge playroom for most of Brantley's toys (which she is loving). Our goal is to buy furniture for that room by Christmas time, but we'll see.
Going from our little house, to our now much bigger house is requiring lots of buying so we're having to do it a little at a time. We are in love with our new house and are excited about all the projects we have in store to continue making it feel like OURS!!
